Welcome to my website. My name is Regina M. Ames and I am a graduate of UC Hastings College of the Law. I am interested in finding employment at a plaintiff-side law firm that deals with consumer protection (class actions, products liability, malpractice, toxic torts, securities, etc.). I am passionate about helping individuals that have fallen victim to faulty products and poor treatment by big business.

Feel free to have a look at my resume and work-product. Included on this site are several samples of my writing ability.

This last summer I worked at Cotchett, Pitre, Simon and McCarthy as a summer associate. There I worked on several securities cases, a merger case, a prisoner's rights action, a product's liability case, and others. You can view a motion for reconsideration and a motion to compel discovery that I wrote while I was with the firm.

My moot court writing sample deals with a fascinating case against Nike that was recently decided by the California Supreme Court. The case was brought by a citizen of California who was concerned with Nike's labor practices and the accuracy of their representation of those practices.

Another point of interest on this site is the research I did for a professor at Hastings the summer after my first year on hedonic damages (damages for loss of enjoyment of life). The research consists of approximately a 40 state survey as well as the federal law on the issue broken down by federal districts.
